Animal Life Drawing - Hibernating Wildlife
In this session we celebrated to arrival of Autumn with drawing Hibernating Wildlife.
Hibernating animals will turn down their metabolisms to save energy allowing them to endure cold temperatures and food scarcity. Many creatures, from tiny insects to large mammals can hibernate, ranging from a few days to 11 months. There are different states of hibernation and there is even the equivalent process to hibernation for animals in hot climates that are trying to escape extreme heat or drought!
Along with the name of each species you will also see how long they generally adopt the strategy of hibernation or torpor.
There are warm ups with quick studies and then gradually slow down with so you can get lost into your sketchbooks with these beautiful creatures. There will be images and moving footage on screen with timers for your reference.
Enjoy!
